Opportunity to grow

As our young company grows, new positions develop for our Nonsuch team members. These opportunities are both linear (such as moving from ‘assistant brewer’ to ‘brewer’) and lateral (shifting into other parts of the business.)


 
 

Position summary

 

The Packaging & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficient packaging, organization, and movement of all our products with care, precision, and quality at every step.

 
 

As we continue to grow as a company, we need assistance in the warehouse. The ideal fit would be someone who can support the packaging team with tasks both directly and indirectly related to the packaging, and distribution of beer. 

Primary Responsibilities

 

canning and bottling

  • Setting up and sanitizing canning and bottling line

  • Sanitizing and preparing beer hoses for product packaging

  • Loading/ Unloading depalletizer

  • Prepping all miscellaneous pieces involved in canning and bottling

  • Helping during canning and bottling process packing off finished product

  • Tearing down and cleaning canning line, bottling line and related equipment

  • Swapping canning line between Nifty and Nonsuch, and different can sizes

kegging

  • Setting up, sanitizing and running keg cleaner and keg filler

  • Cleaning and filling kegs as needed

  • Tracking, labeling and storing clean and full kegs in warehouse

  • Cleaning and tearing down keg filler and keg cleaner

Warehousing

  • Aiding in organizing and moving pallets of kegs, cans and bottles

  • Tracking and inputting inventory

  • Driving forklift

other duties

  • Helping prep and package small batches

  • Helping with cleaning tasks in warehouse and brewery as needed

  • Building boxes and flats for packaging days

  • Building multi packs

  • Misc. tasks around the brewery, warehouse, and taproom as needed

  • Pulling inventory for subscriptions and building boxes and packages on a
    monthly basis

  • Helping in the brewery with tasks as needed included but not limited to transfers, 02 readings, milling grain, cleaning etc.

  • Helping with home and licensee deliveries as needed.

 

Working Conditions 

  • Warehouse & Packaging floor, Brewery Production Floor, some computer
    work

  • Unspecified schedule, dependant on shifting business needs (20-35+ hours
    per week, opportunities for overtime)

  • Shifts will only be booked during warehouse hours, Monday - Friday 8 AM - 6 PM

  • Varying temperature (hot to cold) and noise levels, indoors and outdoors

  • Varying physical demands; heavy lifting, standing, walking, bending, reaching,
    stopping, climbing, work from heights, kneel and crouch

  • Ability to work near moving parts machinery safely

  • Ability to work safely with and around dangerous chemicals

MUST HAVE


  • Must be 18 years old or older.

  • CSA/ANSI Approved Hard Toe Footwear

  • WHMIS

  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License

  • Mechanical knowledge and aptitude

  • Ability to lift a 63 kg keg and work full days in a physically demanding environment

  • Availability to occasionally work evenings and weekends

  • Passion for beer, thirst to connect with people, and a love for Winnipeg

NICE TO HAVE

SALARY



  • Ability to speak French

  • Experience in a professional production brewery

  • Homebrew experience – Following existing recipes and formulating / conceptualizing new recipes

  • Forklift certification

  • Knowledge of Beer Judge Certification or Cicerone programs 

The hourly wage for this position will be based on experience.
