Dining Service
To ensure that our Kitchen has the capacity to serve many guests at the same time, we offer a buffet style dinner service. Dishes are brought out to the buffet table throughout the evening in the following order:
Cold fingers (Charcuterie, Chips avec Dip, etc.)
Hot fingers (Foccacia & Eggplant, Goldeye Croquette, etc.)
Mains (Salads, Burger Sliders, Hand pies, etc.)
Desserts (Cake, doughnuts, etc.)
Bar Service
Partial Bookout
Servers will move about the room and take orders from your guests and then bring them their drinks. As the rest of the taproom is open to the public, event guests will not have direct access to the bar for ordering.
Full Bookout
Guests can order drinks directly from the bar or from the servers moving about the space.
Food & Beverage Minimum FAQ

You will be quoted a Food & Beverage Minimum when you inquire. This amount varies depending on the type of booking, the season, day of the week, and the number of guests.

Before the event, you will work with Nonsuch’s Event Coordinator to come up with an Event Menu that suits your preferences, type of event, and number of guests.

You will be invoiced for a Food Pre-Order, which is due at least 2 weeks before the event. The net total (before tax + gratuity) will count towards the Food & Beverage Minimum.

The total net cost of your Food Pre-order counts towards your F&B Minimum. The remaining amount is how much you should expect to spend on drinks on the day of the event. If the amount spent on Food & Beverages does not meet or exceed the minimum, a top-up will be added to your bill to make up the difference.

The F&B Minimum spend is calculated before taxes and gratuity, but all food & beverage orders are subject to taxes and 18% gratuity.

The Food Pre-order must be paid for in one invoice prior to the event, so that cannot be paid for by the guests.
At the event, you can choose to have an open bar (one bill), guest tabs, or a mix of the two by offering a limited number drink tickets.
In either case, you are still responsible for paying the F&B Top-up Fee if the total sales does not exceed the minimum spend.

We are pretty good at calculating how much food your event will need, but we also believe that having too much food is better than not having enough. In any case, near the end of the event, servers will put out take-out boxes for the guests to pack leftovers.

While our small and mighty kitchen is well-practiced in serving a full house, the nature of hosting an event means feeding everyone all at once.
Additionally, the casual nature of hosting an event means guests will be moving around from table to table visiting, which makes it challenging for servers to take custom orders.
To ensure smooth service while also offering as much variety as possible, guests cannot order additional dishes beyond fixed buffet menu.

When you create the menu, let us know how many of your guests have dietary restrictions and we can design a menu that will appeal to them, making modifications as necessary. Food on the buffet table will be clearly labelled as so guests can know which dishes they can eat.
If any individuals have severe allergies, make note of them by name in the food pre-order. We can serve them individually so they don’t have to worry about any cross-contamination at the buffet table.

Outside Desserts
While we offer a selection of delicious cakes and doughnuts, we understand that sometimes the occasion calls for bringing in a specialty dessert item. Our Kitchen will store the dessert as necessary, and then cut and plate it to be served to guests. The plating fee is $2 per guest, which will be charged on the final bill at the end of the event.
Custom Menu Items
If there is something you want served that you don’t see on our regular menu, you can work with our chef to design a dish that also works well with our service style. This additional service is subject to a development fee, plus the price per serving ordered. Custom Menu Items are only available for Full Bookouts and require at least 4-weeks notice.
Late Night Menu
If your event is booked for six hours and you’re worried your guests might get a little hungry later in the night, you can work with our chef to design your own Late Night Menu. This additional service is subject to a development fee, plus a fixed price per guest.
While you can use your own imagination, some Late Night Menus we were have served in the past include a Focaccia Sandwich Bar, Poutine Bar, or Appetizer Platter.
